Control Alsa Volume with Deyboard Shortcut

This Arch wiki and this Xfce forum explain everything important to the topic.

Only problem - it just didn't work. Nothing happened. The solution was to replace "Master" with "Master Front".

So here are all steps necessary to get this working:

1.) Check if amixer is installed.

2.) Open /home/user/.config/rc.xml with your editor of choice.

3.) Insert

   <keybind key="W-Up">
     <action name="Execute">
       <command>amixer -q set "Master Front" 5%+ unmute</command>
     </action>
   </keybind>
   <keybind key="W-Down">
     <action name="Execute">
       <command>amixer -q set "Master Front" 5%- unmute</command>
     </action>
   </keybind>
   <keybind key="W-Escape">
     <action name="Execute">
       <command>amixer -q set "Master Front" toggle</command>
     </action>
   </keybind>
